Is it time for a new tutorial? Do you look at tutorials? What would you like to see? Keep in mind that suggestions should be sewing, knitting, or crochet related. If you don’t look at tutorials, is there a reason why? Maybe there’s something else you’d like to see.

I’ve recently been turned on to Pinterest. I’m not sure what the point is, but it sure is fun to look what people like! It’s like the ultimate in people-watching, but deeper. You can follow me on there, if you like. I don’t have much on there yet – trying to add one or two photos a day. Just one more thing to keep up with!

It’s a New Year!

As you could see from my Sewing Room Makeover photos, I decided it was time to get organized. I had been needing more shelf space for a couple of years, but had to make do with a few bookshelves. It’s so nice to have all my fabric visible on wall shelving – I can already feel the designing muses at work!

My wedding party orders have increased over the past year, which pleases me greatly And my local customer base has almost tripled in 2011 as well! “They” (I’m not sure who “they” are, but…) say that it takes about 5 years to grow a small business. I’ve just started my 5th year, and I have to say that I’m glad I stuck it out.

My hopes for 2012 are to grow my costume line. I have many ideas for Steampunk designs and other historical costuming. My dream for a couple of years now has been to add a corset line – modern and historical outer wear, not the lingerie kind. If you have ideas of styles you like to see added to my shop, please leave a comment and let me know. I’m always happy to hear from you
